Yeah, so basically pissed off doesn’t even begin to describe the feelings I’m currently having towards my computer.
Just recently, with in the past month or so, my computer, a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Vista home premium, has randomly started shutting itself off. No, it’s not going to the nice “windows is now shutting down” screen it’s more like… Poof! And it’s off.
The first time this happened, I though it as because it had maybe, over heated so, I left it alone for an hour and then restarted it. When it finally came up, the black screen telling you your computer had been shut down improperly loaded and then the computer went about its normal thing. After a few hours of playing on it I shut the computer down, properly I might add, and went to bed. The next day when I started up, even though I had shut it down properly, the same black screen came up telling me that my computer had been shut down wrong and had to be started in “safe mode” Yeah, I was irked but I didn’t think to much of it, after all… it’s a Dell…
Anyways, a few weeks past and ever time I shut it down, it continued to bring up the “improper shut down” screen until one day, after yet another random shut down, my “improper shut down” screen turned to a “internal driver malfunction” and tells me that it has to run a scan of my computer. Okay, whatever, I let it run the scan, the scan finishes my computer turns off again, comes back up with yet another black screen this one reading “internal driver corruption” and wants to scan my computer AGAIN. It scans, restarts, brings up the same black “inter driver corruption” file but this time gives me the option to skip the scan, witch I obviously did, because I’m not stuck in black screen limbo anymore.
Basically, I have no clue what the hell my computer is doing and my fucking warrantee on it ran out almost two months ago and I don’t have the money to go get it looked at, not if I want to go see my boyfriend this summer as I have planned. If any one has any clue as to what could be wrong with my computer please tell me… I need to know if I should even bother getting the damn thing looked at or just start saving for a new computer.
Also, no I did not and will not call tec support, the last two time I called tec support over computer problems they toss me around for nearly two hours before hanging up on me once and telling me “nothing was wrong” the second time. Yeah… THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG JACK ASS!
